West Ham v Spurs The Star on Sunday have a worrying bit of transfer news for Tottenham fans. Spurs finished the season as the Premier League runners-up in another fabulous campaign from Mauricio Pochettino's side. But ever since the EPL season ended, Tottenham's achievements have been a little bit eroded by the achievements of some of their rivals. First off there was Man United's Europa League win over Ajax, which means Spurs have gone from being in the Champions League pot 2, to dropping into pot 3 instead. Then, on Saturday, Arsenal finished the season with one more piece of silverware than Spurs as they beat Chelsea in the FA Cup final. On Sunday, the Star believe Spurs may have another setback, this time in the transfer market, as West Ham open their cheque book. What's the story? Ross Barkley has been tipped with a summer exit from Everton, as the England international fails to agree a new deal with the Toffees. Indeed, he was left out Everton's starting XI by Ronald Koeman in their final match of the season at Arsenal. Tottenham have long been positioned as the frontrunners for the Everton playmaker, but the Star believe West Ham have entered the fray. The Hammers are hoping to sign Barkley by offering his 140 thousand pounds a week. Would Spurs offer him that sort of salary?
